I don't think politicians are up to the job
Any politician who was up to the job and told the British public the truth wouldn't get elected. No-one likes the sound of really bad news.

That's a terrible indictment of the British public - but there it is :(.

All three main parties would rather the truth came from the IMF after the election.

And their polling tells them that we would too :(.

Who knows whether its blip or not. Its starting to remind me of the banking crisis though. First their NR but they were badly run and therefore there was nothing to worry about. Then BB came along but again there was nothing to worry about as RBS/HBOS etc were to big fall. Now we get Greece who are seen as badly run and seems will get a bailout. Then we may move to Portugal, Ireland etc who I assume if it happens will also get bailouts. From there who knows the UK? Just like the banks the markets will find a new country to pick on evey few days/weeks.

All I know is that the Central Banks round the world have no real idea whehter what they are trying will work but things could get so bad if they don't that they will simply keep trying different things until hopefully one does work.

I suspect the markets could be a rollar coaster ride over the next few months.
