I took the plunge last year and switched current account from northern bank (I'm in N.I.) where I'd been for 13+ years to the Alliance n Leicester one. Far smoother than I expected and they sorted out all my DDs and wages payments etc. Question is, I have a credit card with Egg who are carp! Just applied to A n L for their Santander card with a view to transferring my balance and getting a far better deal BUT the first question on the application form was how long have you held your current account! Answer: 1 month! Will this go against me bearing in mind the account is now with them?
