Hello All,
Very very sorry if this is a daft question please bear in mind im very sleep deprived with a 6month old teething baby.
What I wanted to know is if i have a credit card that has a balance on at the standard rate and then i was to use credit card cheques for that same credit card which have promotional rate of 0% for 6months how do they distinguish between the two?
I.E when i then make the payments on that card etc? Are they sneaky and do it so that the amount i'm paying off covers the percentage of the overall balance that is 0% so that i still pay as much interest as possible to them?
Sorry if this is rambling hopefully one of you will understand what i mean :rotfl:

The back of your statement should tell you.
Most card issuers will apply repayments to the lowest rate first, allowing them to screw you for as much interest as possible.
But there are exceptions to this which is why I suggest checking the detail on your statement.0 -

I think the ONLY exception at the moment is Nationwide. No Longer works for MBNA as of August 2010 - redundancy money will be nice though.
