Trying to find a holiday in Cyprus

I'm trying to decide on a holiday to Cyprus for first two weeks of September, flying from any London airport (Stansted would be useful!). Its looking like its probably going to be Paphos as seems to have the right mix of noise and quiet, culture and English (less of the English, more of the culture and tradition please.
Was thinking about Protaras but appears very English and purpose built, and Coral Bay seems a bit too quiet and isolated (don't want to have to drive everywhere!).
What we want is a decent hotel B&B or self catering apartments, walking distance to a beach (preferably sandy, at least where you enter the water!), within walking distance of good restaurants and a few bars.
Been ploughing through brochure and Trip Advisor and its so hard to choose! If anyone has any advice or tips I would appreciate them greatly.:D TIA
