extension to bungalow

Hi,
I was wondering if you could advise on the following quote
A 5m x 3m extension onto the back of the bungalow, replacing a wooden conservatory with a permanent brick structure. One half is a new kitchen, with double uPVC doors, and the other half into a bedroom. Internally moving one supporting wall 2m back, probably about 2.5m wide, and moving a non supporting wall a foot - this ones about 2.5 m again. New white bathroom suite, no kitchen being fitted.
I've been quoted £30k for this - this is in surrey, but even so, I thought that this was a bit steep?
Would welcome the collective wisdom - this is the first quote I've had out of about 3

That does sound expensive. I know a very good builder who serves Surrey & London and has been doing so for 15 years +. If you would like his details by all means p.m me.0 -
do you have an amount in mind which would be reasonable - was was thingkin around the 20-25 mark?No longer an accidental landlord, still a wannabe millionaire:beer:

About £2K per square metre depending on the finish.I am the Cat who walks alone0

I would certainly think whilst times are hard you could do better than 2k a square metre like has been quoted. Please let me know how you get on with Rod - he knows his stuff and is very good value.

Oooh I knew there was a good reason I married my (then muso) hubbie. I got mine, slightly smaller, but a complicated 'join' for around 8K.
He plays geetar too !
If you want to put the effort in you could surely find a small(ish) builder who would accommodate this? It can save a fortune. Not just a sucker for sweeties..:o0 -
Without taking a little nose at the plans it would be hard for me to put a figure on. I certainly believe 30k can be well beaten though. If you like I would certainly have a look for you if you wanted me to.
Cheers

probably cheaper to get some lads from the NW to come and do it.
here you can get a basic brick structure built for 5/10k easy.
c4x4 metres with a flat roof.
20k/30k seems about right for surrey.Get some gorm.0
