Is the OU degree B46 Maths & It's Learning enough for a career in Teaching?

I'm moving to Germany soon and am going to take the oppurtunity to just work part time and start a degree with the OU. Ideally I'd like to have a career in teaching at secondary school. I have seen a course on the OU - B46 Maths & It's Learning which I thought was a maths and teaching degree in one iyswim. But after speaking to my sister she told me I would still need to do the PGCE aswell. Is this right?

Not sure about Germany, but I think in the UK that the TDA web site would be authorative and informative. For post 16 eduction FE and work-based learning (which might nowadays include some secondary school students), the IFL site is the equivalent.

I'm going to Germany as a HM Forces dependant and by the time I finish the degree will more than likely be back in the UK. Thanks for the advice, will have a nosey.

Unless you do a BEd (not offered by the OU) you will need to do a PGCE or other teaching qualification after your degree.

Yeah, I saw that on the TDA website, but I don't think I'd be able to do that in Germany. I think I'm just gonna do the B46 and then the PGCE.
Thing that's worrying me now is I can get on the B46 ok as I don't need any qualifications, but the PGCE requires you to have a GSCE in Maths & English but doesn't specify what grades. I got a B in Maths and a D in English Language and an E in English Literature. Will these count or does it have to be a C or above?
I suppose I could redo my English if needs be.

Edit: Just seen it does state that it has to be a C or above... Looks like I'll have to do my English again

It will have to be a c or above I'm afraid so you will have to resit it, I am currently looking at doing a smiliar degree and I got a D in Maths (but a C in statistics although they won't accept that as an alternative) and have been told I will have to resit my maths gcse. You should be able to do it in a year at nightschool
