A Cleaner Oven

Just a small tip... To clean the glass door of your oven, use a Glass Paint Scraper tool available from any DIY store... Its like stanley blade with a handle...
I wouldn't use one on the outsite, but the inside
where its plain glass.
The baked on flim comes off in strips...

If you can be bothered ('fraid I can't!) after you've cleaned the inside of the oven, give all the walls a wipe over with a bicarb of soda solution. It dries to a powdery looking finish, but given a weekly clean and re-coat, keeps the oven looking almost new. My old neighbour did this, and her oven looked brilliant after 15 years!!Leylie0

Right been back at that Cooker again armed with a product Called
"Oven Pride" from Asda it cost approx £4.60, which i hovered over paying but i then took the chance, anyway i started last night as the instructions stated ,not that i usually read them , took a look this morning and hey presto the oven was Gleaming just washed over with Damp cloth took the stainless Grill out of the bag they provide , again Gleaming ,sure the pixies had been in last night .Anyway this product i would recomend , yes bit pricey , but it will do more than one clean!! and take away the frustration of scrubing as this is not needed.0 -
My parents work in a Chinese Take away for over 20 years, as you can imagine alota grease. They use hot water with soda crystals ( cheap stuff ) on the cookers , extractor fans, tiled walls where surfaces permitt. MUST wear rubber gloves and start scrubbing with the scouring pad. Ideally keep the water constantly hot, as hot your hands can take it. The heat melts away the grease quick time. Then wipe over with a hot wet clean cloth over and over to get rid of the chemicals. And obviously avoid contact with clothing and the eyes.0

hi all, a friend of mine told me ages ago about cleaning the shelves of the oven, she told me to put them in the bath over night covered with how water and biological washing powder.
i tried this and the next day my shelves were gleaming after wiping them over with a scourer sponge.
although i did have to give the bath a good clean but it wasn't a hard job.0 -

I do the same and find it very effective. Bath is easy to clean down with white vingar and a good scrub!0 -
