  • Hi ya frankiemoneybags.

I am on a Budget and have done brilliantly so far......when are you getting married? I am the 29th August this year!

We have said no more that £4000 all together,
We are hoping to spend only £2000 on the whole wedding and the other £2000 will be for our honeymoon thats the plan......

as our wedding in on a Sunday I managed to get a great deal at the Holiday inn £999.00 this includes red carpet arrival, informal host, civil ceremony room hire, cake stand and drinks receptionand sandwich buffet for 30 guests, evening room hire, evening reception with hotpot buffect for 120 guest and an evening reception DJ until 12.30am plus accomodation for us on the night (subject to availablity)

I have bought my three adult bridemaids dresses from debehams sale all matching two where £40 each and one at £32 as it had a tiny snag, 3 adult bridemaid shoes BHS £12.50 in sale and 3 necklaces from accessorize again in sale down to £2.20 each1
Flower girl 6.99 ebay and pageboy outfit £7.50 ebay,

    Best Tip ebay, ebay, ebay,

    Favour bags, cake topper,

Poundland have some bubbles for decorating the tables and for the kids plus out bits, some looks tacky but the bubbles looked fine.

MY DRESS i love it is a Maggie S bought it in a Bridal shop in the sale and i done need to do anything to it? £262. reduced from £750 and they had shoes for sale too down from £5/60 pounds to £15.00, so i got them too.....

To be honest I feel like i am nearly sorted!

Cake will be M&S in the region of £75.00. and will decorate.

as i dont live to far from New convent Garden market have been thinking about doing my own flowers will have a few trial runs and if i am rubbish i might have to rethink will it be hard to do?

All my stationary invites came from TXMaxx including place cards thank you cards and rsvp cards total spend £26ish.

Am please with my finds so far though......

You could look at ebay for your dress there's hundreds there look at the bridal shop note down the style and number and see if you can get it there most are cleaned extra but seem to be going really low, thats what i was thinking about doing, but fell in love with it and it was so reduced i could not miss it......

    My dress, from sample sale
    BM's dress from Ebay
    Favours from the Confetti sale
    Venue haggled room hire off
Vistaprint free offers to get invites!!

  • Some good ideas here where would I find a sample shop?
  • Most Bridal shops would have a few sale dresses at the moment and as i said i got my shoes there, new season starting and trying to make space ring some bridal shops near you and ask do they have samples for sale or sale dresses then have a look the bridal shop i went to started at £95 pounds upwards the lady is even steam cleaning my dress for me so it will be prefect on the day x good luck

*puts hand up* I'm planning our wedding on a tiny budget....our biggest expense is going to be the church (organist is £100 ) but its beautiful and the vicar is fantastic so worth every penny. 2nd marriage for both of us so its very special :)

We are not having a honeymoon, just a night in a nice hotel and a week off work...we'll probably need that just to recover!

My daughter is buying her own dress as she plans on getting something she can wear again and my SiL is getting my neices dress. We bought 5 waistcoats in the Matalan sale which should have been £12 each but got all 5 for £15! These are for the groom, best man, my bro (who is giving me away) and ushers. They are all going to buy their own (cheap) suits and i will get the ties to match bridesmaid colours. I'm going for an Ebay dress and will hopefully resell it after.

I have a lovely friend who will help me do my own invitations and flowers and any dress alterations and we have another friend who has agreed to drive me and my bro to church in his parents Jag :D

Still working on reception ideas...I would do my own buffet but think it might be a bit too much on top of everything else but as long as everyone has something to eat and enjoys themselves then i will be happy. Cake will be from Asda, M&S or Tesco and I will make a flower arrangement for a topper.

Just heard that friends son is paying £7000 JUST to hire a venue for the day and that doesn't include food....
  • I was thinking of my maid of honour and asking her to buy a dress which she could wear to this and other occasions.

£7000 OMG I couldnt imagine spending that much, I could do it but I want my wedding to be about the small things,
