both wired PC and laptop are Windows XP0

Ok Xp is rusty so I will guess a bit , my xp box is in bits long story.
Ok right click on wireless icon bit of right hand side of task bar and select status or properties if its status then select properties. Select TCP/IP V4 and properties again. Change to Use this IP address and put in 192 168 002 020 and the change to Use this DNS server address to 192 168 002 001
Then click Ok
This will hopefully tell your Wifi card to use 192....20 as its ip address and that might allow us to connect .4.8kWp 12x400W Longhi 9.6 kWh battery Giv-hy 5.0 Inverter, WSW facing Essex . Aint no sunshine ☀️ Octopus gas fixed dec 24 @ 5.74 tracker again+ Octopus Intelligent Flux leccy

Where do I find wireless networks - I've got network connections or wireless network wizard, neither of which have advanced settings in the bottom left.
OK, doing this from memory until I check it. Do this on your LAPTOP
On your laptop, there should be a wireless networks icon bottom right of the screen. Looks like a computer with a radar (the one that says connected). Otherwise go to connect to wireless networks in your start menu
When the window opens up, which displays all available wireless networks. The bottom left option on the screen should say something like "change settings". It's definately the last one or very bottom left. Click this
In the window what opens up, down the bottom it will show all your networks you have connected to. Click remove on them all so the box is empty. There should be a "properties" (I think) to the right of this... click this. There will be a window appears, you need to tick the box at the top which says "access point". Untick the box which says "any available network" and select the box which says "automatically connect to preferred network".... you may have to do some browsing in here, but they're usually on the "Wireless Networks" tab and "General Properties" tabs (names at top)
Now, when they're all setup, click OK. Double click your wireless networks icon, bottom right of your computer. Find your network and double click on it, enter the security key when prompted and click connect. That should fix it, if it doesn't then it means your laptop isn't on the network... you can check this by doing following
Click start - run - type cmd - type ipconfig /all against the "wireless ethernet" I believe yours was called Zendo (or something like that) check the IP and Gateway information. Your IP address should be 192.168.x.x and the gateway since it's belkin should be 192.168.2.1, if this information not present then you need to setup wireless again from scratch.... if you need to do that..then the following
(this may vary as I haven't looked up your router model) I have the Wireless N one (the new versions)
1 - Connect network cable to laptop other end into your router, wait for connection
2 - Verify connection by doing IPconfig /all or browsing to internet
3 - Once you have connection, open up internet explorer and type http://192.168.2.1 then press enter, you will get the logon screen for Belkin. Enter your username and password
4 - Click the wireless and SSID option on the left depending on your model
5 - Turn OFF the wireless, then click apply. Then turn it back on
6 - Change security to WPA2-PSK (no server)
7 - Encryption should be TKIP+AES
8 - Type in a security code you want to use, and click apply
9 - Go to the screen for networks, set it to automatic channel selection. Choose the drop down for Wireless B/G/N and click apply
Your wireless should be setup again in the router, after a few seconds open up the wireless networks (bottom right) and double click your connection. Enter the new key you just setup a few moments ago and click connect.
It if says connected, then your wireless should be hunky dory, remove the network cable and all should be OK
Hope that helps

I can follow your instructions but ................... still no connection with the internet. The wireless LAN adapter configuation utility is showing that there is a connection, as it has always shown. But I still can't get onto the internet

Dump the Belkin Wireless Utility it's CRAP!!!!
Click start - run - type services.msc and press enter
In the right window, scroll to bottom, there should be something which says "Windows zero configuration" (or something like this), right click it and go to properties. Change to automatic, then click start (thats why you couldn't find the options)
If it says the zero service is already enabled, open up the Belkin Wireless Utility (which is what I think you're using) and there should be a tickbox IIRC on the first page (i think it's on the middle-right) it says "let windows manage my wireless connection". Tick this, then click apply
A few more suggestions btw. How is your wireless activiated, do you have a little switch you can slide on the laptop, or with FN+F7. Just being safe and making sure it's actually enabled .
I would suggest some remote software if that doesn't work, but it's against forum rules for me to get you to download programs. So it's your choice if you wanna go that route
