Do you just print the ticket with your name on it and take it to the cinema. I know this sounds a daft question. Can someone help please as this is my first time. Thank You.

Thanks very much, got some for Liverpool now.
You do just turn up with your ticket, it's that easy! I've seen 5 films since I discovered this, it's fab!
  • yay! Glad most people are getting tickets!! Don't wait to get your tickets later or you might lose out as venues fill up.
To those who didn't manage to get any :( watch this space - will try to update the first post as and when new codes come up!!

Basically just turn up at the cinema at 10am (movie starts at 10.30am sharp - no trailers are screened) and show them your printed ticket/sms ticket (you may need to show some id as your name is printed on the ticket but quite often they don't bother with that). There is no seating allotment so sit anywhere you please!

    Enjoy the movie!! :)

They have never asked me for ID at my local Odeon, and there are always plenty of empty seats.
  • Does anyone know if they over subscribe and issue more tickets than there are seats to allow for people who request tickets and then don't go?

I would hate to have a wasted journey especially with my niece and nephew.

i've never had to show my ticket, usualy you just ask where the showing is (in multiplex they don't have it advertised atall, the bit outside the screen that says the film name always has something else entirely) but they just tell you and in you go.
also the screens have never been full (i've been to about 9 showings)
Don’t ask what the world needs. Ask what makes you come alive, and go do it.
Because what the world needs is people who have come alive.

Yeah, same here - we've never been asked for ID either. :p But I mentioned it as it is written on the ticket and there's always a first time, right? Would hate to go all the way there, kids hyper and excited only to be turned away because of something as silly as that.

All I can say is that each time I've been to a free screening there have been loads of empty seats (particularly on Sunday mornings). And those same screenings were completely full according to the ticket site. :( If you have already got your tickets don't worry yourself. Just turn up and you will deffo get seats. :p

(I don't know how vigilant or over-enthusiastic the cinema staff are in your area but here in London they always ask to see your ticket otherwise you may not be permitted in to the screening - I've been to movies in Greenwich, Wandsworth, Covent Garden, Swiss Cottage and the West End and all required a ticket - I wouldn't recommend anyone turning up to a screening without a printed/sms ticket);)

Having said that, if anyone has already got their tickets but for whatever reason will not be going to the movie, in the true spirit of our MSE community, do please offer your tickets to someone who was not as lucky as you. As you can see from the above posts there are many people who would have liked to see the movie but tickets for their local venues have already gone. :T

    Cheers:beer:

    :j Enjoy the movie!:j

Angelundercover - thanks heaps. I've actually sent this link to my sisters for my nieces and nephews. They'll love it. :j

Incidentally, where do people get these codes from? or is that giving away a trade secret :D

Its a good find angel, but its so frustrating for us down here in the Southeast corner nearest is usually Brighton. Or a London venue. 70 to 80 miles away.----I know we could always move house!!!
