I hate to be the voice of doom here, but be very careful with the cahoot flexi loan. they put up interest whenever they feel like it http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=208966:beer: Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -
Just wanted to say welcome...have read the above....ummm while you may be loathe to get rid of the gym its nearly £100 a month! At the end of the day we all have our own level of comfort but I think you really need to ask yourself & your OH how badly you want to be debt free. Just cos its a car loan its still a debt & you're still paying, rather than getting, interest! Its hard changing lifestyle to become DFW (see my sig!) but worth it;) . Its also scary..but once you dig your head well & truely out of the sand you'll feel quite liberated!! Also agree with others that a cheap & cheerful wedding can be fab - some of the best I've been to have been! Bottom line I think is how badly do you want this? I suppose I am cautious about what you've said because I got to the stage where I coundnt afford to pay back debts and are somewhat concerned that you may continue as you are and end up in the same place (I was lulled into the "I can afford it", got a good salary, bung it on CC, mentality with loands etc & now cannot belive I was SOOOOO stupid to pay £8000 interest alone on one of my loans!:o )..also just because you separate your finances doesent make it any less of a debt no matter how you try & juggle it!!.sending a big hug and hoping that you & OH really come to your sences...:)Nerd no 109 Long haulers supporters DFW #1! I have to say that if you were to find a way out of the Audi deal most of your problems would be solved... even if it initially costs you a bit it's worth it... Think of the fuel and tax and insurance you could be saving!!!! Call the dealership and see what it would cost you to hand it back and then buy something cheap for now. Don't forget with a new-ish Audiyou will have to go to THEM for service to remain within warrenty which is vital when you come to resell it... and your service will be a LOT more expensive as a result.
Once rid of the Audi the rest sounds like we could with very little effort get you debt free and some handy savings for flights and weddingDFW Nerd #025DFW no more! Officially debt free 2017 - now joining the MFW's!
