Red light cameras

The cameras are activated by inductive loops in the road surface immediately behind and in front of the white line. Given that the offence is not simply to "go through a red light" but to proceed beyond the stop line when the red light is showing if you rear wheels hit the sensor and the light is showing red the offence is complete. Remember: you should treat a single amber light as you would a red and as the minimum/maximum period an amber will show for is 3 seconds you'd have had plenty of warning of an impending red if your back wheels were not clear of the line.My very sincere apologies for those hoping to request off-board assistance but I am now so inundated with requests that in order to do justice to those "already in the system" I am no longer accepting PM's and am unlikely to do so for the foreseeable future (August 2016).
For those seeking more detailed advice and guidance regarding small claims cases arising from private parking issues I recommend that you visit the Private Parking forum on PePiPoo.com0 -
Hi
Regarding the previous forum, Has any any one got caught for this?0 -
Hi
I wanted to know as it is confusing from these forums where the sensors in the floor are at the traffic lights
Is it the stop white line, or is it just beond this line?
Also what happerns for example if the back wheel hits the sensoras you go past when the light turns red?
Finally are the cameras activated when it turns red or is there a delay for like a second or two?
The loops are infront and behind the stop line as stated. The stop line is really key to how you act at the junction. The loops do not care about wheels they are working on magnetics, and if you cross over the first loop before the light goes red, nothing should happen. If you hit the first loop before the white line and the light is on red, the camera thinks 'hello' and then if you hit the second one it is bullseye and then takes a photo of you crossing the stop line showing the lights lit up at red and another 1 second later. A databox is superimposed showing all your mistakes and even proving it was you for multiple lanes!
It seems to depend where you are but cameras are usually activated as soon as it goes red- after all the warning is 3s of amber time.0
