Capital One Number

I have successfully reclaimed my charges from Capital One by using the FOS.
I have received a letter today stating that the refund will take 6 weeks!
I think this is unacceptable and just taking the p*ss!
Does anyone have the telephone number for the Capital One Department here in the UK? I want to see if I can hurry things up a bit and get this account closed down.
I have the standard customer services number but they are useless and can't help with anything unless it is scripted...
Thanks for your help.

Who informed you it would take 6 weeks?
Was that from the FOS as part of the settlement proposal? If not, refer the matter back to the FOS if you think waiting 6 weeks in unacceptable.
If it was as part of the agreed settlement, there's probably little you can do as you decided to accept the settlement proposed by the FOS."Now to trolling as a concept. .... I am having trouble with capital one.
I wrote to them for a PPI reclaim, after paying £40 a month for over 4 years for a policy that turns out to have very little benefits in protection.
So i wrote to capital one last summer! Unfortunately at this time my monthly payments were cancelled by my bank and so my whole account has built up arrears which i have spoken CO about. My account has now been passed on to Debitas who have now sent out callers to my address.
I am on the second stage of letters for PPI reclaim, and also included a complaint about the conduct of Debitas - persistant phone calls to my work home and mobile, several times a day and outside of their trading hours. They have been told several times to not contact me at work as my manager is getting fed up. They had ignored these requests up until xmas and had been rude to my colleagues and manager.
I have had a couple of less than nice letters from Debitas, and today have received a calling card from power 2 contact. I certainly did not answer the door but the bouncer looking man left a card. Funny i don't recall any conversations or appointment making for a visitor to turn up at my home.
so the fun begins................0 -

That's what tends to happen when you owe people money. They often don't make appointments (because for some odd reason many debtors often don't keep to them)... and some are not quite so nice (or law abiding!) than others "Now to trolling as a concept. .... Until my PPI is resolved i won't be engaging in any form of contact with these people, i will continue writing to Capital One. As far as Debitas and Power 2 contact are concerned i am searching for advice as to what these people are legally entitled to do and if they are breaking laws and codes i will be persuing. Perhaps i might even leave a calling card for them. I am not easily intimidated and so their bullying tactics will only make me more stubborn, rightly or wrongly.
Bring it on :cool:0 -

The settlement form I signed stated nothing about how long any refund would take.
After I sent it back, I received a letter from the FOS who advised that Capital One have informed them that it may take six weeks for some customers (all of them I bet!). The FOS acknowledges that this may seem like a long time but to contact them again if it takes longer.
I've read enough stories on here, and having dealt personally with capital one, I know this is not going to be a short wait. I'd like to call them and hurry them along a bit.
Surely someone has the number for their 'Executive Response Unit'?0 -
wrote to capital one asking for refund of ppi charges as i hadn't asked to sign up for it or been told i didn't HAVE to have it,. they wrote asking me for £10 for my 'data' and a request for my present signature as the one they have doesn't match that in my letter recently. anybody know what's going on? any experince with this folks?0
