Working Tax Credits for Students

Hi
Just wondering if anyone else has had my experience or knows if it is correct
Me and my partner made a joint claim for Working Tax Credits in 08/09 as we were jointly self employed, then we were both working in 2009 so didn't receive anything. In September last year we called them to say that i am earning £18,027 and he is a full time student and they have been paying him £30 per week. He called them today to check that this was correct as he's in full time education and i am working full time and she said it is correct.
Anyone know anything about this as wouldn't like to get get stung later on, although we've obviously told them our current situation.
Would appreciate any advice on this.
Jess

You shouldnt be getting working tax credits as earning too much, the cut off is 17k PA0

Is it still a joint claim for tax credits?0

Yes it's a joint claim even though i told them over a year and a half ago when i started working full time and then told them recently again my earnings. They confirmed it's a joint claim when my partner called them today, it has to be a joint claim as we live together.0

The award would go on the lesser of this year and last year's income, so presently it's fine they're paying you. Technically though, it should be the worker getting paid the working tax credits, although it doesn't really affect the amount of the award etc. so it's not really a problem.0
