Alarm query.
Does anyone know if it's possible to lock a car, but for the alarm not to sound. It's a Citroen.
My dog sets the alarm off when I leave him due his movement. I'm having to leave it unlocked when I go into a shop, and worried someone will make off with him.

Not sure which car you have, but if I lock my door/s with my key, it set's the immobiliser but not the alarm.0

Consult your manual. (RTFM

If a manual isn't to hand, ask a dealer or look it up or google you make and model Alarm Motion SensorProud of who, and what, I am. :female::male::cool:0 -
There's usually a way of disabling the internal sensors for this sort of event.0

Train the dog to sit still."You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0

On cars such as Vauxhalls there is a switch to disable the interior ultrasonics and the tilt sensors (for ferries). Where there isn't a switch you push the two interior light buttons together and the alarm LED flashes to give you 10 seconds to lock the car but without the interior sensors on. I imagine Citroen have a similar system. The man without a signature.0

Alternatively, train the dog to protect the car, i.e. not allow anyone else in the car.maninthestreet wrote: »Train the dog to sit still.
No need to lock it then, and it won't get stolen.0
