There can be many factors that can mean their are differences in the premiums between you and your brothers premium. However your brother has his partner on the policy, this can reduce insurance premiums with certain companies by a fairly large amount eg 15%

I've since changed insurers several times, dutifully disclosing the medical condition every time, and never been charged additional premium, as far as I know.

Unless you get them to do quotes both with and without the condition, there is no way you would know.

It's easy to do these days with online quote systems, so would be worth a try

thats understanderble when it comes to my brother. he has 2 years no claims and she has 4 years and points and i have a clean licence, car value is approx £3500 for their car and mine is about £600. i just find it puzzling as when i added my older brother onto a quote and he's had a clean licence for 14 years it actually went up by about £40

I tried the link to the site that was placed in dacouch's post  to obtain a quote for my current car and discovered that when you fill in your personal details they will give you a quote based on assumptions they have made about your driving history. in this case i was obtaining a quote for my rover which is currently costing me £510 to insure fully comp using Halifax, i was quoted £637 through this site.

Many thanks for the suggestion and link though, it's appreciated :D

The Insurers the Patients Associations recommend aren't always the cheapest.

Try ringing or popping into a local broker and see what they quote you with Fortis, most are open until lunch time on a Saturday.

(Adding a partner eg girlfriend or spouse reduces some insurers quotes as some find single men higher risks than men with g/f or spouses)
