Over 8 Weeks since bank letter

Hi I had a letter from Lloyds (*which I cant seem to locate at the moment - has been a lot of upheavel in this house), thing is, I am pretty sure that it is over 8 weeks ago now. I want to persue trying to reclaim the charges, particularly now as I am unemployed and in hardship. I know for a fact that £500 of the charges were within a couple of months of each other and were charges on charges that just esculated. My querey is as I'm almost sure (*but cant find letter) that it is 8 weeks since the bank wrote to me, do I need to start again, or shall I just write to the bank telling them the situation, the financial hardship and that if they dont review, I intend to go to ombudsman?

Much appreciated in advance....

As you are not sure of the date of the letter, why not contact the bank and see what they say?

The worst they can say is it's too late, case closed, in which case start a new claim if that is what you would like to do, but probably better to keep the existing one going if at all possible.

Don't bother telling the bank you'll go to the FOS, they'll be fully aware of what you are and are not allowed to do if they don't respond, and even if they do respond they will probably remind you that you can go to the FOS if you don't accept their decision.

  • Thanks Premier....So, just send them the 'new' letter about hardship thats on here and see what happens from there? You guys are so helpful on here, even when some of us just repeat what others have said or ask. Thanks...
