How long do comanies have to allow from billing date to payment due date?

Just taken out a new credit card and incurred late payment charge because I was a day late with payment. I paid in full the day I received the bill but only had 3 days to clear the payment instead of the 4 needed. Got bill no 2 yesterday with charges on and worked out that allowing for weekends there is a 3 day window to pay the bill. Spoke to the company who thought this was reasonable. I persuaded them to refund the charge but guess what I intend to do with this account once it has been settled. I thought there was a rule that CC companies had to allow a reasonable time to pay. Has anyone else experienced this?

The lowest I've seen is 14 days, I believe they would assume this is acceptable because you do not need to wait for the statement to pay, it's only a reminder. Set up some form of automated payment, or call them and pay between your statement date and due date.
Don't leave it in the hands of Royal Mail to decide when you can pay your bills

how many days are there between the statement date and the pay date?
which CC company is it
consider setting up a DD or of course simply clsoing it down0 -
I would setup a DD, or use the online banking service going forwards

Nope. Sounds unreasonable or unlikely to me. Who's it with?"A child of five could understand this. Fetch me a child of five." - Groucho Marx0
