Any ideas on '04 meriva problem

I have an '04 reg Meriva and a couple of weeks ago the warning light came on whilst on the motorway. I took it to my local garage the next day and after they had read the code, was told that a new coil pack was needed, also the ABS light came on so was told a new sensor was needed. I had the coil pack replaced and am waiting for the ABS sensor to arrive. In the meantime the warning light came back on and the speedo has stopped working, also the engine cuts out every time the clutch is depressed when I stop.(after a while it steadies out and is ok for a bit but then it returns) This time the code said it was the MAP sensor, so I had this replaced. Now the warning light is on again and the sppedo and cutting out have returned. At idle the revs are dipping and its cutting out. Has anyone got any ideas as to what the problem could be as I think the mechanic is baffled!

Could be idle control valve, crank shaft sensor or even a spark plug

i'd replace both seeing as there both cheap

Thanks I will mention these to the mechanic and see what he says but this morning it was running ok, the speedo started working the warning light went out and it didn't cut out. However, this afternoon it all went wrong again, it's driving me mad!
