Advice please car insurance

My dad has got a motability car at the moment that was for his late wife that died in jan 2010 , the motability people said he could keep for upto 8 weeks from the death for him to find another car . He has had this car only since july 2009.the quiestion is with the motability people paying for the insurance for him on the motability car when he comes to buy his own car soon when he comes to insure it himself what does he do about his no claims bonus would this have been reduced back to 0 years because he has had the motability car or will it carry on as full no claims ?

Assuming that it was within the past couple of years most companies should reinstate his no claims. He should be able to get proof from last renewal or by contacting the last insurance company

Whos name was the insurance policy under? Was it your fathers name or the late wives? If he was a named driver on the policy then he probably won't be entitled to a NCB.

Speak to Motability - I believe they will provide proof of no claims during the period he had the motability car.

Speak to other insurers - some will accept NC during the motability period, some will not.
