I'd like to be able to keep the laptop running (for example all night) but with the lid closed (screen off as well)
Is there a way of doing this?

Other way is go to power option and select power saver mode and set time in turn of the display as you need.0

Pressing Fn+F6 usually turns off the screen on most laptops. You will need to do this manually before closing the lid thoughDoublespresso wrote: »Thanks, I looked into this but there is no option to switch off the screen...

The little man who lives in your fridge and turns the light off when you close the door has a brother who does the same when you close the lid of your laptop. Even if you select 'Do nothing', he still switches your screen off for you.0
