Does anyone know how long they can store this information for?
I know credit accounts is 6 years and Linked Address is 8 years or however long they want as long as your account is open.
I have rang Experian about this and the adviser wasn't too clued up on it.
Also does this information affect your credit rating when you don't use the previous name?

I've never disclosed my previous name when applying for credit but it is mentioned on my credit report. God only knows why as I've never used my last name ANYWHERE since I was five years old!!
But still, hasn't hurt my chances FWIW. Just got a new mobile contract today passed AOK so all seems good

Why not is your surname Ritchie and your first name Mabawza?"A child of five could understand this. Fetch me a child of five." - Groucho Marx0 -
No... no I don't think so.
Although I've always toyed with the idea of chaing my name to one of those swish rich american type names like Lenox Luxomberg or Max Steel... then realised I was thinking absolute tripe and carried on with something else
And yes, yes I am slightly insane today. Been up too long and not eaten enough.Cashback Earned ¦ Nectar Points £68 ¦ Natoinwide Select £62 ¦ Aqua Reward £100 ¦ Amex Platinum £48
