What can I do?

I wrote to my bank about getting my money back way back when it first started, they responded and said they'll wait for the courts response. I got a letter back from them dated 25th Jan saying that now the courts have decided the charges to be fair they have re-opened my account. As i'm currently over drawn and in a DMP they have said that they are going to start their collection activity up again. As part of the DMP i've been paying into the account every month for the last year and am only £1.46p (yes as in 146 pence) over my overdraft. This seems a little harsh to me, or am I alone in that?
I actually wrote a letter to the CEO and explained the whole situation and it got passed onto the Executive and Media Complaints department who requested a few more details, which i supplied, and said they'd get back to me in about 10 days.
Do you think I should have spoken to customer services first and what is the likely outcome? Will I actually be asked for all the over draft back etc?
Any help would be appreciated.
Many thanks
Tom

Why not try to scrape together the 146 pennies required to put you inside your authorised overdraft?

LOL! I did actually mention that in my email. I told them that if they send me a letter again i'll give them 150 pennies and bring it under the overdraft limit and leave it at that. I'll wait and see what their response is tho.

  • My advice would just be to stop acting the obstinate !!!! and pay 2 quid in. Some things aren't worth the time/energy devoted to complaining.

Seconded, and one that is essentially echoed by Martin in his latest article on reclaiming
And do remember the best way to avoid bank charges is not to have them in the first place ...
