HI
Looking to travel on a shoe string, and currently looking at options of train journeys.
Apart from 4% cashback on Quidco, and booking in advanced, what else can reduce the cost of travel to France? Any discounts or deals that come up regularly? Travelling in July (peak season, i know).
Are there any other deals (not involving hotels) that may be worth while?
Thanks

Best bet is to look at www.raileurope.co.uk website either 90 or 120 days in advance of travel. There can be some good deals, especially if you can get the 'promo' fares on the TGV part of the journey. You could try splitting the journey up for pricing purposes say London to Lille then Lille to wherever you want to go or London/Paris then Paris/wherever.
If you have Airmiles (not BA miles) these can be used to offset the eurostar cost.0 -
I have tesco points - is it economical to offset tesco-airmiles to eurostar?
Cheers btw............... Have you ever wondered what

if you are looking at eurostar compare it with the french alternative as there seems to be a price difference approx £10 when I last compared them, worth looking at though http://www.sncf.co.uk/0

I have seen Times offers of 241, and even took advantage some years ago of that. So I'd advise you to have a look regularly at the newspaper threads over at Discounts and Vouchers. Then you need some passwords printed in the paper to be able to book. I do not know when these offers appear, but have seen them often.0
