                    Hi,
Trying to find out how far out of London it is where controlled parking zones end. I'm coming in from Oxford to stay in the Kensington area and want to leave the car for the weekend, picking it up on a Monday morning.
Was hoping I could park for free somwhere and get the tube in, can anyone recommend somewhere?

One tip - I use Google's streetview to check on parking restrictions on the road that I want to visit. It is really really handy. I often have sourced suitable parking before I have left the house this way. Streetview is brilliant for that!
As to parking in London, what time will you be hoping to park and leave your car? A lot of areas have residents zones between 10am and 3pm on Mon - Fri only. So if you are planning to leave it after 3pm on Friday and collect it before 10am on Monday that may work. I have found this to be true in the Hangar Lane area and some areas around Acton. You can just get the Piccadilly Line into Kensington from Acton.
Sorry I don't recall any particular streets - but will see if I can find any on streetview when I have a min and might PM you the details if I get time....
 Good Luck!0

Spots covered by Westminsters residential permit scheme end at 8:30pm usually on Friday and restart by 8:30 am on Monday (but you'll need to be out of the C zone before 7am unless you want to pay that).
I imagine K & C borough would be similar...but you can park on Eccleston Sq and get the tube from Victoria if you need too0

Most if not all Westminster parking permit zones are active on Saturday as well....so would not recommend parking in the centre of london. Ideal areas to look at are zone 3 outwards.0

The one I recommended is not...none of the ones in Pimlico are that I have seen - my OH parks here every other weekend 0 0

Thanks guys, helpful replies, especially like the street view idea, brilliant!
I'll be arriving Saturday about 1.00 pm and leaving Monday about 11.30 am.
I've seen spaces by the hotel that are available between 1.30 Sat and 8.30 Monday but dont want to leave that early. So I either park up outside London for the whole weekend or move it on Sunday night.0

I take that back, just checked Eccleston square, you can park all weekend....learn something new every day.....but check the signs as the westminster permit zone hours are different in every street!0

Shhh dont tell everyone LS - its a little secret
So SW you'll need to be outside the C zone anyway - therefore I agree further out is most likely better for you 0 0

Why not just take the oxford tube?....a lot less hassle and cheap0

I live to the North of Ealing and there are parking zones in some places nearer stations and shops , but you could leave your car parked in my road all weekend and no one would bother with it.. just depends on how far you will be prepared to travel into Kensington... I'm sure there would be nearer places too.. someone will be along with more suggestions I am sure#6 of the SKI-ers Club :j
