Laptop from Carphone Warehouse

Hi,

I got a new laptop from Carphone warehouse on a two year deal with Talk Talk. I am not paying any interest on the laptop which is why I thought this was a good deal.

I choose a Sony laptop, which looks great and is advertised in the store as having Bluetooth. However when I got home and was actively using the laptop, I have discovered that it doesnt come with bluetooth. I am cross because this was one of the reasons I choose this particular model.

What can I do about it as I am now tied to them for two years?

Thanks in advance.

Have you taken this up with CPW, and if so what did they say?

    What model is the Sony?

    Where was the deal advertised?
  • Hi,

I phoned carphone warehouse and they said they would speak to the Geek Squad (other staff members). I'm hoping they will get back to me today.

The Laptop is Sony Vaio NW20EF/S. The deal has been advertised in store, online and in the printed laptop book for customers to take away with them.

Whats the best I can hope for here?

    Cheers for replying.

Have you got a copy of it somewhere where that model says it comes with bluetooth?

As above, does the advert in store specifically mention Bluetooth. As the laptop is a material part of your contract with CPW if it turns out as not "as described" then you should be able to cancel if they can't supply you with what was advertised.

Edit: As far as I can tell the only NW20 model with bluetooth is the NW20ZF/S.
  • If you want an easy solution if you're otherwise happy with the laptop (or a temporary one) then there's an adapter here http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.11866. I use it with my netbook/phone. It's $2 including delivery.
  • Hi,

Carphone Warehouse have since been in touch and accepted the mistake. They said they will provide me with a bluetooth adapter free of charge. I think this is an ok solution to my problem.

I just wonder how many other people have bought the laptop thinking the same as me!!!

    Thanks.
