since all this stuff with Ofsted came in we have lost most of the very few childminders we had here so I can totally understand your reluctance to rely on themThere's wrap around care at my kids school, including holiday club but they charge per session not hourly. Childminders (mainly) charge an hourly fee but so many have dropped out of doing it and I feel I'd always be looking for the next childcare provider.

My hubby works one full weekend in two (and that is 7.30am - 9pm saturday and sunday), I work 9-5 mon-fri but fortunately can work from home most of that. However I get all bank holidays off but he has to work most of them. Yes childcare works out great most of the time, but its difficult to get family time together and usually we have to make the most of booked holidays.
Personally if I were in your shoes, I wouldn't take a job that is every weekend as you will also not get much time with your kids (they will be at school while you are at home and vice versa), maybe just try some evening work or even one day at the weekend but still keeping one of the weekend days free for your family?Aug GC £63.23/£200, Total Savings £00 -
I can't work weekday evenings at all due to hubby's job not even for just 1 evening as it varys so much what time he's in or if he's away o/night. This week has been
Mon home 7.30pm
Tues - work from home
weds home 8.15pm
Thurs work from home
Fri - work from home -this is due to hospital appt though, otherwise it would have been 5.45pm home.
Next week on Weds he knows he's away o/night. I don't know about the other days.
So few jobs have come up in my area in the past 12 months that it's a case of having to apply for the ones that are there -iyswim. I've never seen a just Saturday Or Sunday job.0 -
Spendless - I did this for 7 1/2 years.
B/f works Mon to Fri
I worked Sat Sun & Bank holidays.
In terms of how it worked, well it worked just fine. I liked it as we weren't relying on others for childcare (unless in emergencies). I stopped last year as I wanted a career change and a weekend job wasn't never going to get me anywhere corporately or otherwise.
Like I said - it worked for us - as a family we are hard working anyway and we all support each other. You do need that support - it's important that no one feels put upon or left out."One day I realised that when you are lying in your grave, it's no good saying, "I was too shy, too frightened."
Because by then you've blown your chances. That's it."0 -
As you have admin skills why not see if you can do some basic admin - bookkeeping, invoices, etc, for small firms local to you. Put an ad in the local newsagents windows.0

This has been our way of life for 6 years. We have 3 children 10, 3 and 17 months. And my hubby works 9-5 monday to friday and i work a split shift sat and sun, i do 8-2 then back out 4 til 8. Its the only time i can work as we have nobody to watch kids regular. But if im honest, its not the best solution, im actually recently feeling sooo down with it as we never see each other and never get to do anything together as a family.I really hope u can find something suitable that makes u happy. Wish i could as well.2021 Please Be A Better Year0
