Just after advice/thoughts at this point please. We use internet banking alot for our Nationwide account and in June 2008 our overdraft limit increased from £1,000 up to £3,000 by showing as available limit on the online statement. I must point out at this stage we hadn't requested it to be increased but for that month it came in handy as it was used for Mortgage/Utility payments & other expenses which pushed it very close to the £3,000 limit as our business was experiencing the effects of the recession at that point in time.
What transpired in effect was that the new overdraft limit was in effect 'offered' to us, which we should have then filled in on the online section of the internet banking page to have made a formal request for the new limit to then become approved in July.
So what then happened in August 2008 was all payments being then returned & Nationwide wanting everything back !!
I obviously spoke to them on the phone & I could see they were on the back foot about it but the best that could be arranged was for it to be reduced by us bringing it down by £300 a month.
This put us in an difficult situation & although we have successfully now got back on an even keel with the account we did incur further charges along the way due to struggling to put an extra £300 in each month so I do now feel that I should complain to the FOS about our treatment on our account & the charges incurred, so does this sound appropiate for them to look at & also for trying for older charges on the account also with the hardship approach ?
Thanks in advance for reading.

Thank you, I had previously contacted Nationwide in October last year asking for a list of charges over the last 6 years, but not a formal discussion over the situation I've highlighted. I was of course hanging fire at the time waiting to see what was going to happen at the Supreme Court but since then I've really been awaiting to see what the next advice was going to be on here. Obviously after Martins email yesterday about the next steps to take I wanted to sound out any ideas & suggestions.0
