who do i contact 1st??

hi ive just seen the new update on bank charges and want to try claim charges back.
i would personally class myself in financial hardship as ive:

• lost my job in the past month
• unemployed at present
• been charged over 100 pound a month in charges in the past year
• cant keep up with payments of other bills

who do i contact 1st is it the bank
natwest and lloyds tsb
or
do i go straight to the ombudsman

how long will this claim take rufferly.
any help will be appreciated

Please read my signature which is the lending code chapter 9. I would contact your creditors first to see what help they can give as you are having payment difficulties, then contact the bank and explain everything you have done to reduce outgoing and resolve with lenders to reduce those outgoings and then explain your individual circumstances as to how your income was reduced, the affect it has had on your ability to pay and they should respond with an income and expenditure form. Complete this and send it back to the bank which you use as your main account.
