Yeah, it looks like it's their first attempt at scams. They give a landline number, email address with a proper ISP, and ask for all the wrong info.
Might be worth sending the way of your ISP, Wanadoo (who register fsmail) and the Greater Manchester Police who are notorious jobsworths and always grateful for an excuse to go and knock some heads together.

Actually that address doesn't exist and the phone number is an Edinburgh code. It probably doesn't exist or is nothing to do with this. The key element of the scam is that you will provide the details they ask for and after a few more messages back and forth to gain your trust, they ask for bank details which if you give they use to clear your accounts.

The email address would have alerted me, why would a massive corporation like microsoft use a third party email address??

Oh i ve had this one a while back...

As i live near Manchester,i did some research.

The address relates to a council house on Stockport Rd so you can be sure it isnt Microsofts UK base.

also ,if i remember correctly,,the post code relates to the main post office sorting complex on Oldham Rd,Manchester.

My theory is/was that the person involved in this scam, had access to the mail sort racks for the address and he would intercept incoming mail addressed to that address whilst he worked(?) at the sorting office??

Anyway its an old one and if you google it,you'll see that people all over the word are asking if this address is genuine...!

Words fail me,,how naive...not you of course..the other dimwits)

PS i had a plan to knock on the door with my letter and a video cam to claim my prize just to see what the response was.

I'll bet whoever lives there is mightily sick of it as well...!
Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..

This post bears repeating as a warning to all newbies who have not come across this one before.
I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.
