Hi...my JSA is due to stop soon as well...I was working 31 hours a week for the last 20 years...I lost my job when the firm closed down...I live alone and have a £65.000 mortgage, I have no children living at home...I am very confused what I can claim as I have never claimed benefits before.....what will happen when my JSA stops? can anyone advise me please, I am currently paying £30 a week into my gas meter out of my benefit which is just less than £70 a week, I have been surviving by using my savings which are nearly all gone now. I do get council tax benefit but nothing else...can anyone help advise me please ..Thank You

you can change to IB JSA if you have limited savings, you may also apply for help with your morgage.

Your gas payments have no bearing on what benefits that you can claim but this forum is packed with money saving tips to help reduce your outgoings.

thanks for your reply...will I get Iincome based JSA when this benefit stops or ar you saying I have to change myself?? Sorry if I seem ignorant but i have never claimed benefits before.... Is it the same amout as the benefit I am getting now? Thanks

You may have filled in the form at the start of the claim but it is best to check with JCP to see if there is anything you need to do.

It will be the same amount of benefit.
