Hi,
I am about to have a re-roof, but one of the options I have it whether I go for real slate (currently Welsh) or the other option given was Concrete Slate. Can anybody give any advice for/against each type.
Thanks

I go for slate if its not much more, main reason is been used for hundreds of years and proven to work. I think some concrete can loose there colour after a long while and also concrete weighs a lot more than slate0

As antispam states check the weight of any alternatives. I've seen too many slate roofs replaced with tiles resulting in roof sag a few years later as the homeowner just wanted a cheap job.
Be wary of slate from Spain/Portugal/Brazil (often illegally imported and marked as Spanish) - it doesn't like British weather!0
