Hi everyone,
I'm after a new laptop as my sony vaio which is only 7 months old has decided to die on me! I'm getting a refund from tesco's. So I've got up to £700 to spend on a new laptop.
I only really surf the internet put pictures on stuff like that. The vaio is 4gig so would want something as good or better. I don't really want another sony as I've googled them and they have a big law suite going on from over 100,000 unhappy customers. I do/did have a toshiba laptop it's coming up to 3 years old and has never been a problem.
Any advice welcome.

Wow! Fantastic customer service from Tesco!:T
I know I've been getting through to sony alot which have been totally unhelpful and insisted that I had a repair and it would take them 1 week + to sort it out. I explained the problem to tesco and he said take it into a store and you will get a refund :j So can't fault tesco at all :T

Do you really need to spend £700, one half the price would happily surf the net and do pictures (as would your 3 yr old laptop)? HP's have had their problems too (nvidia graphics overheating), have you considered a Dell? http://www.dmxdimension.com/!!

I don't have to spend the whole £700 on a new laptop I'm looking at buying a archos with the money I save
