Hello,
I was wondering if I could get some advice?
I am planning to open an online business selling baby and childrens goods (re-usable nappies, feeding accessories and some toys etc) but I was wondering if I should register as a sole trader at first or as a ltd? I am also a bit lost when it comes to tax etc so would have to seek help from an accountant for this. Is there anywher I could go to get one-to-one advice so I could talk over the options a bit more?
Thanks

I would imagine that business link are the best place to start for advice.
google businesslink.
personally i would go for sole trader as there is no cost involved and then later on if the business is going ok register it as a ltd company.0 -
As Hugo has said go to your nearest Business link where they will offer you all the advice you need in the beginning for free, you obviously will need an accountant but not at this stage so no point in paying for their services just yet.Everyones opinion is the most important.....no wonder nothing is ever agreed on.0

There might even be grants available to you from your local business link/business enterprise

thanks so much:)0

An accountant would usually give you a little time free of charge to discuss the basics with you. The general advice for new businesses is to start as a sole trader and convert into a Limited company as you become more successful but obviously this may not suit your individual circumstances.0
