AXA Car Insurance
As reported in Martin's newsletter today, AXA are now selling insurance online. I have bought my last 2 car policies with AXA through a broker and it has been the cheapest for me, even when checking against comparison sites and cashback. So hopefully will get it cheaper this year with going direct to AXA.

WOW, welcome to the 21st century AXA..:D0

They used to sell policies under their direct arm until a few years ago and then decided it was not for them and sold their book of business to another company. They are just going back into it (All be it a bit late).
Dealing with Axa without having a broker to cushion the problems their claims and customer service staff cause is not for the faint hearted0 -
Just a trading style of Swiftcover. I was intrigued by their advertising of upto 90% NCD... so I emailed to find out what the scale was:Our no claims discount scale is affected by a number of factors. We offer up to the following discounts:
NCD Years % Discount
0 Years 0
1 Year 36-48
2 Years 62-68
3 Years 76-79
4 Years 82-85
5+ Years 85-90
Seems very generous, did a quote though and even with their supposedly more generous NCD, works out pretty much the same as everywhere else...! Obviously higher pre-NCD premiums to compensate...0 -

It's great to see a well informed consumer who does not fall for marketing waffle, the inflated no claims bonus (Along with inflated gross premium) could start off a No Claims Discount War with companies offering 95% etc. It's just like other companies are doing with the "Free" 2 months cover at the moment. They started off at 2 weeks...
There will always be people who ar fooled by these though0 -
I will still check with all the comparison sites etc when my policy is up for renewal, before staying with AXA. I will also do an online application as new business as well.0
