    It's their own fault.

That's a bit harsh NASA. Don't those who work for public services have a duty to ensure that their service is accessible to all? How does your viewpoint account for people with learning difficulties, or those with communication difficulties for example. There are many people who are unaware they are entitled to claim for various reasons and saying it's their own fault is very unhelpful and particularly naive. Lets not forget the reasons why we have a welfare state.

Three kids on DLA? (Or at least thought about).

Only one of them is on DLA because of the problems the mum had with the oldest. (She was turned down and had to go to tribunal)

There is a clear reason why discussion threads are not supposed to be posted on here! ;)

That is what I do not get, why do we get these things dumped in here especially when there is a sticky saying the board is not for discussion?!

Public Services are available for all - with multiple avenues of access - those with severe learning or communication difficulties can have someone act on their behalf such as an appointee or a benefits advocacy group.

The rest, well they need to do a bit of research, the information is out there.

There's plenty of advertisements on TV about tax credits (although I don't thinkI've seen any for Pension Credits) so I don'tthinkanymore than this is required.

People do have to take personal resposibility for many aspects of their lives.

I have seen large adverts about Pension Credits in the newspapers and I was just on yahoo and an advert caught my eye and that was for Pension Credits!

I suggest you read the rules and in particular this rule and the paragraph where Martin says "MSE Staff post on the forum with my permission and at my request".

As for saying "why do we get these things dumped in here" well funnily enough it is so all MSE users can read the news reports and if only one person reads the thread and realises they can claim a benefit then thats one person who has been helped.

It still does not change the fact that we have been told this board is not for discussion and there is a sticky about it.

I still do not think these reports should be dumped in here as discussion points when it is easy enough for people to find out otherwise.

Its a private board. If Martin wants to allow guides to post slightly against the norm so what.

Surely it is a public board.

I was just stating what we have been told and replying to the sarcastic post above.

Its a privately owned board which the public are allowed to post on.

Martins rules and exceptions to rules.
