scottish + southern electric issue
Options
hello folks, i need a bit of advice on my pre-payment electric.
when i moved into this house, the electric was on a prepayment meter with brittish gas (i think), a few months later i switched to scottish n southern (purple card+keys) as the unit price was lower.
recently i switched to npower as they offered to beat both the unit price and the weekly charge. great i thought, but now scottish n southern is chasing me for £9.97 via a letter. i phoned them up and they've said its from when i initially switched to them the £9.97 was in credit on the meter and went to BG but the electricity used came from their network.
they've advised me to pay to them the money owed and claim the money back from BG. but why should i? surely the issue is between SnS and BG.
yeah it's only a tenner or so, but atm i'm getting "found" by other debt's from my time with my now seperated wife, so it's money i cant really afford to pay out.
many thanks in advance,
Glen.

Why not do as they suggest and claim the money from BG and when it arrives, give it to SSE?
No loss to you and seems the easiest way to resolve this."Now to trolling as a concept. .... Personally, I've always found it a little sad that people choose to spend such a large proportion of their lives in this way but they do, and we have to deal with it." - MSE Forum Manager 6th July 20100
