Hi. I've got Medion laptop running Vista Home Prem - owned since August 2009 and never had a problem but it's started to just cut out - clicks/turns off then turns itself back on again at which point it asks me to choose safe mode or whatever with the various options, it's now cutting out more frequently - I've run the repair disc which came with it then tried to install all the Msoft updates - about 130 of them which were deleted because of the repair and it got midway - about 50% and then cut out again - wary of re repairing in case I'm causing more problems. I ran a scan last week due to the cutting out - nowt found, and now don't quite know what to do.
It's now back to factory mode due to the repair and no anti virus because I couldn't even get Msofts own security to load due to above probs.
HELP.

it may not be software/virus related - it could be down to hardware - such as overheating cpu or there may be a problem with the harddrive or harddrive controller on the motherboard. Does the laptop feel like its getting hot? Are the vents / heatsink / fan clear of dust?
Also make sure the battery pack is seated correctly - and the hard driveDon't try to teach a pig to sing - it wastes your time and annoys the pig0 -
take it back to where you purchased it, its only 6 months old.0

Yup, sounds like hardware rather than software. Take it back ASAP
