Best way of getting 2k into my bank account?

in Credit cards
Hi, i'm just wondering what the best/cheapest way of getting 2k into my bank account would be? It would be paid back £1k at the end of this month and the rest at the end of next month...?
I have a few different credit cards including a Virgin one where they send out the cheques regularly - would this be the best method?
I also have two cards with 0% on purchases but my purchase is a car, so I'm not sure whether dealers would accept a part credit card payment? (the amount of the car exceeds my credit card limit)..
Not even sure if i'v posted in nthe correct forum, but any help appreciated!

Thanks Mutton and Canny - both of these avenues already tried I'm afraid! tis a bit of a pain as I can pay the cash back so quickly! How do the cheques work with credit cards then? Would I wind up paying silly amounts back?0

Do you still have a 0% on BT wth MBNA?
If so, then just call them up and see if the cheques qualify for the 0% and what the fees are. The only problem is that they'll charge you 3% for the transfer.
I do think an easier method would be to use one of your 0% on purchases cards. A car company will generally charge 2-3% so it's comparable (check first). But in addition, you'll have the protection of the credit card for your purchase. Do you earn any cashback /points with either of your cards?"One day I realised that when you are lying in your grave, it's no good saying, "I was too shy, too frightened."
Because by then you've blown your chances. That's it."0 -

Hi MrCow! I do have an Amex on which I do most of my mnonthly spending then pay off in full at the end of each month - this gives me cashback but I'd need two months to pay it off :-(0 -
What are the other cards that are offering 0% on purchases? Do you have enough credit on them/
The first call should be to the dealer you're buying with and finding out if they take credit cards and whether there is a fee to pay. We did this with a car supermarket a couple of years back and they levied 3%.
Mind you, a 3% deal for two months worth of money isn't great - but it's the flexibilty that you are paying for. The bonus is as well that if you take a little longer to pay it back, you'll pay no more interest."One day I realised that when you are lying in your grave, it's no good saying, "I was too shy, too frightened."

Why don't you save up then buy the car?
I know that the one you want will have gone but another the same will come up I'm sure.[strike]-£20,000[/strike] 0!0 -

This, I agree, is the obvious solution, and it is/was the original plan. However, my current car now needs a repair that would cost a fortune. Hence why I'm trying to make changing it a few months earlier an option. I don't have a specific vehicle in mind anywhere, we only know what make and model, spec etc we want, were' also considering buying new. i guess what I';m trying to say is that i'm not stamping my feet demanding a new car before I can really afford one, it's just my current car has not lasted as long as it needed to!
If necessary I shall simply do without one in the interim, I just thought i would post on here to see if there was a way of avoiding the need to struggle without a car for a few months, that's all :-)0 -
Perhaps rent one? No that's silly. Or get a chitty banger for the next couple of months maybe a '89 Vauxhall Nova :rotfl: :rotfl:Cashback Earned ¦ Nectar Points £68 ¦ Natoinwide Select £62 ¦ Aqua Reward £100 ¦ Amex Platinum £48
