Vista Network Connection Icon Seems Confused

So far this doesn't appear to be causing any major problems but it is annoying and I'd like to find a cure if possible.
Recently my computer has sometimes started displaying that I am not connected at the taskbar (near the clock) with the red 'X' over the icon. But I am quite happily connected to my wireless network and everything is working as it should.
It doesn't always do it either, often a reboot will get the icon displaying correctly only for it to go wrong again the next day.
I'm running Windows Vista Ultimate 64 and use a USB wireless dongle to connected to my wireless router.
Microsoft seem to have this on their site as a 'known issue' but there is little in the way of a cure. It didn't do it at all until a few weeks ago so I'm thinking some sort of update has cocked things up?
Anyone got a quick fix or at least seen this before?

I boot the laptop up, i can then use the internet browser for 2 mins with the icon showing as not connected, i know its working as im getting the pages i want.
After everything else has booted up, the screen refreshes and the mouse pointer returns to the default place, then it shows me as connected.
I guess it could just be one of them things...0 -
I guess so. Here's hoping it doesn't become something worse...0
