New kitchen - how much?

Hi all,
Having a new kitchen this year and am hoping for some insight into how much this will/ should cost.
The plan is:
1. Rip out all current units, floor and tiles (same tiles on floor as on walls- yuck!)
2. Knock down a partition wall between the kitchen and dining room.
3. Remove kitchen exterior door and put in a new (larger) window - say 1.5m wide (as there are already exterior patio doors going out into the back garden from the dining roomso dont need the extra door). Make good.
4. Replace with cream gloss units, some kind of wood effect laminate flooring and tile and paint on walls.
5. Electric cooker will need installing and gas for hob will need moving. Also never had dishwasher before, so this will require plumbing in and water will need moving as we are moving the washing machine a bit.
Sounds like a big job!!
I have had a quote from a kitchen supplier for £3,800 for 9 new floor units and 4 wall units - quality looks good (they come preassembled), worktops, plinths, sink and tap etc on a supply only basis (this is only £400 more expensive than a Homebase quote, still waiting for a Howdens quote).
Appliances with them are an extra £900 - Caple single fitted under electric oven and gas hob, Caple integrated dishwasher and a stainless steel chimney unit.
So I guess my questions are:
1. Does the quote above for units sound reasonable (I had a look at Appliance websites on-line and the price of appliances looks competitive).
2. Are Caple appliances any good? Struggling to find any reviews online.
3. What is a ball park figure for the fit and building work? I have had a builder round a while back who was recommended to me and he suggested that £10k for everything would be not far off - does that sound realistic?
4. Any other comments?
That turned into a bit of a mammoth post!!!
Thanks in advance
