Having just had a bad experience of buying a new sofa and a battle to finally get a refund I am back to the drawing board. Has anyone had a good experience? Please feel free to also tell me of your bad experiences so I can get some idea of which company to avoid.
Many thanks in advance, your help on this is very much appreciated.

It really depends on your budget. We got two decent leather sofas from Furniture Village.0

As Hethmar mentions, it depends on your budget. My furniture came from Multiyork, is superbly comfortable & built to last. The details & measurements of your suite/sofa are kept on file indefinitely & you are able to have new covers made at any time in the future should you wish to have a different style or colour. The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.
I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.0 -
whatever you do, don't go to DFS!!
made that mistake a few years back. The sofa was wrecked within months, their people came out twice to try to fix it by putting more foam in the cushions - it didn't work. They then said it was part of the design, (to be sagging in the middle and look like it was about to collapse!!).
Got no where with them and they were not willing to help in any way. Had to get rid of it and buy a new one.
Good luck)

Thanks so much Hethmar Cattie and Louisa. My budget is up to about £800 for a good quality sofa. Will def avoid DFS.I have read some positive things about Multiyork. I guess on balance people have bad experiences with most companies...just some companies have more bad reviews than others. A bit of a lottery I think.
Keep the feedback good and bad coming everyone!

My previous sofas were Multiyork (in fact I still have them in other rooms) 18 years ago. The frames are still fantastic but the covers after 2 sons and 3 dogs are worn and tat. Trouble is, to replace the covers cost 50% more than buying the two new leather ones0

Wow Hethmar now that sounds like quality! There's only lil' ol' me so no little ones or pets to worry about. Will def have a look at multiyork.:)
Thanks again.

Very expensive bella. They sometimes have sales - we live quite near where their head office is and they have sales twice a year there.

When I first got mine after about a year one devloped a squeak (as I said, 2 boys, one hefty hubby and three dogs). I rang up, they sent a joiner out who took the sofa apart in my living room and put it together again - lol. It never squeaked again - still doesnt.0 -
Another fan of Furniture Village.
The two sofa's and reclining chair are only seven years old . so can't tell yet if they are going to last .:D
Had a dining room chair delivered damaged , they sorted the problem quickly and efficiently.0 -
Thanks wallbash, I will look at Furniture Village too.
