  • Hello Everyone

I hope you don't mind me joining you all on your money saving journeys. I have been reading this thread for a while and decided it was time to finally join. I'm not in any major debt apart from a mortgage and pain in the butt overdraft (agreed overdraft so not too bad), but I would like to try to stay out of my overdraft and start saving instead:A

    My list for today is:
    • Checked bank account :( In overdraft already and pay day is just over 3 weeks away!
    • Any clicks and surveys
    • Checked Quidco and they have sent me some money, only £6 but every little helps :j
    • Need to drop advertisement card into supermarket to go up on the board...need to shift some bits and pieces like fridge, bike and cross trainer that are gathering dust in the garage
    • Lunch and snacks brought in from home
    • Cottage pie for tea using ingredients we already have in
    • Try to list a couple of things on Ebay this evening
I think that's everything for today.

    Have a nice day everyone!

-check banking, and renamed online accounts so see "debt card going down" and "emergency savings" rather than account numbers which makes it feel different somehow!

What a great idea irishmist - I think I will copy you!

It has been like Piccadilly Circus here over the last hour. I have had Mums turning up to collect things that I have sold through Netmums - just a couple of quid here and there but so far I have collected £39 ! :jI need to renew our summer passes for T and me for Adventure Wonderland this week, as there is a 20% early bird discount til Friday. So far I have made the £32 for T's pass and now just need another £25 to buy mine. It would cost us £20 per visit normally, but this way we go as often as we like so it is super MSE!

    Today I:
    1) Worked this morning
    2) LSD ( 39p for a bag of Doritos to put in a sandwich. :o)
    3) Will list more items for sale to make my £25.
    4) Found out about a local job that would suit OH, so he is contacting the company right now.
    5) Put some wine from my Christmas stash to chill in the fridge for later - watching the new episode of Lost tonight. A very special occasion!
    6) Checked banking.
    7) Did SC
    8) Received money from Quidco and paid straight to a CC.
    9) Read the free Sky magazine instead of buying a paper.
    10) B is off to see Avatar tonight using an Orange Wednesday code.

Ooh better run and pick up my little man from school!
    See you later, L x

I've just posted this on the Old Style thread - thought it might be of interest to some of you lot.:)

I'm currently reading The Complete Tightwad Gazette and looked Amy Dacyzyn up on Youtube out of curiosity. There is a recently added clip where Amy shows you round her beautiful house - it is the sort of house I dream about! The frugal living obviously paid off.
