Keeping no-claims discount while working overseas

Hi

I plan to work overseas for around 3 years. A great opportunity but one downside is that I have built up my maximum no-claims discount on my car insurance and I don't want to have to pay the full whack when I return.

Is there any way I can keep my discount? I will probably be returning to the UK each year for leave of a couple of months if that is relevant.

What are you doing with your vehicle? Selling it? storing it?

If you are keeping it and no one elses uses it you can get fire and theft cover for it for your peace of mind (not TPFT) which will also keep your NCD alive and growing.

I spent 3 years in Canada and Frizzell (Liverpool Victoria) maintained my NCB for the duration. When I was posted back it would have been 3 years and a month so I had to buy a car by remote control before I got back :)
