Its not 'chavy' to wear pjamas to the supermarket.

I've been to the supermarket in my pjamas, I basically live in my pjamas when i'm not at lectures or at the pub.

But i have only worn pjamas when we go at like 2am etc. I don't have a problem with it, why should you. Surely only the person wearing them should be. Its not like i'm naked

    It's slovenly.

Nah - thing is, this whole "story" stinks of made-up press nonsense. The responses of the woman who was allegedly prevented from shopping at Tesco sound like the kind of parody you might get in, say, a Little Britain sketch, as someone mentioned above. It doesn't ring true!

There's more to this than meets the eye, I reckon - I just can't for the life of me work out what. Some sort of campaign in the Mail or something in the pipeline? Maybe this "issue" will be held up by David Cameron or whoever as an example of "Broken Britain" perhaps, and used as a stick to hit Labour with? Like I say, I don't know what it is or where it comes from - but somebody's using it for their own nefarious gain, I'm convinced.....

Hate to disapoint -but i live in Marshfield approx 2 miles from Tesco St Mellons and this is the truth!!! I saw the sign a few weeks ago. My thoughts were, the girls that go in there on a Friday and Sat night before town to buy fags and booze are alot more offending than those in there PJ's! Not that i would go in PJ's :D

I shop at supermarkets post midnight on occasion and have seen all sorts. Clubbers wearing almost nothing, kids fully clothed with bith mummy and daddy yapping on mobiles whilst the toddler pushes the trolly, security guards from other stores in full security gear with walkie talkies muffling whilst they shop, police bying up the place of diet coke and coffee....

And people in various forms of nightware.

See the thing is, the whole PJ thing? its seen as a "fashion statement" by the chav/13 year old kids of the street. They wear them all day too. Slippeds, PJ bottoms, dressing gowns....they hop out of the car, buy loads of junk food and scamper back in again. See many people doing this, never seen any of them stopped.

  • gawd you should go southeast asia then....the chinese all walk around in there hello kitty pjs and no one bats an eylid...i remember china banning pj wearing whilst the olympics were being hosted....
i personally dont have a problem with it...as long as people are all covered up and i dont really think its anyones business what one decides to wear....its called discrimination....look at goths...punks...muslims......etc...who are we to say that its unhygenic of them...what are you gonna pop into bed with them?

One store has also banned a bloke for not wearing shoes whilst shopping. He stopped wearing shoes due to a limp and his doctor said not wearing shoes would help and then he never went back to wearing them.

Personally I think they should ban smelly people instead.
