xbox bought off ebay

hey guys,

my dad purchased what was described as a used xbox off ebay. It said it was manufactured in 2009, but upon receiving it the console says its manufactured in 2007, im assuming it has been opened as the back of the casing has loads of marks and nicks around the part you need to separate. It has broken after 2 days of light use. He says there is 60 days warranty but really i think because of the fibs in the advert and not mentioning it has been refurbished he should give a full refund.

What do you guys think? only problem is we paid cash on collection not paypal.

Sorry to say, I would not buy this sort of thing off eBay for that very reason, and even more so not pay cash.

You have almost no real recourse, and clearly you were sold a dud, so the seller has no morals anyway.

I just hope you can get a refund, but don't hold your breath.

yea, it wasn't me who bought it, was my dad. I did tell him not to in all fairness. I'm hoping if he doesn't then we can take it up with ebay.
