switching from eon to edf

Im currently on a price protection tariff with eon and have started the transition to edf. How long will this take and is it worth changing to the standard tariff while the transfer is ongoing

Hi VESPAS200 :hello:

The change of supply process takes around 4-6 weeks, your new supplier will pass your meter readings to your old supplier to enable them to produce a final bill.

You should be able to change your tariff with E.ON even if the account is leaving.

Your Price Protection tariff may be better than the standard one if this was one of the early ones, so check this out before you change the tariff on your account .

I am in the process of switching from E.ON to EDF and what a long drawn out process it has been. I started it last August, but as I was on a fixed deal (never again - too expensive), the actual process started on Oct 1st. November 30th Edf took over the electricity supply, but in the mean time, kept getting letters and phone calls from E.ON asking us to stay with them. These were delaying tactics as far as I can see. Finally, gas taken over at end of January, but EDF haven't taken any payments at all and won't start til March 1st. This is far too long and has really put me off ever changing again...lucky EDF!
