Lost paperwork. Can i still reclaim?

I *think* i have about 8 possible ppi's over the past 10 years or so, I know who they are, the rough timescale and a very vague idea of the amount.

How can i go forward with this? Do i just call and give them name and postcode? Then send cheque?

Sorry if that is a very dim question, i'm just a bit confuzzled and VERY unorganised! :o

    Hi and welcome

If you still have the account numbers then you can still try to go for it.

If you do not have these, check on any old banking statements where the loan repayments were repaid from, as the account number should be shown next to the repayments.

A SAR (Subject access Request) maybe useful, but you may only receive copies of info going back as far as 5/6 years, but with one of mine I did receive information going back into the late 90's, so if you want to request for one of these, there is a letter template for this, but you will have to enclose £10 postal order or cheque payment for this request, they have 40 days to comply.

In regards of reclaiming the PPI with your reasons they have 8 weeks in full to respond.
Here is more info with the guidelines of reclaiming, with template letters, a checklist of mis selling reasons and so on.
You write to the ones who arranged and sold you the finance.

  • Thankyou for the advice, much appreciated.

I haven't got any old statements, going to ring Barclays tomorrow and ask them for if they can send me some old ones.

I'm itching to get started on this now, will keep you posted.
