I recently bought a 3 bed semi in solihull, birmingham. It has got a traditional old style boiler (not a combi). It is working ok at the moment but I am thinking of changing it to a combi boiler. my main worry is what if this old boiler starts causing me problems and I dont want to end up paying huge sums for its repair.
The boiler man came and he suggested ferroli optimax 35c. it has 5years parts and labour waranty.
for replacing old boiler and takeing all scrap, boiler and parts is -1520
labour charges - 850
I will be getting the 4oo pnds under the scrappage scheme.
Does this sound reasonable? Are there are any cheaper options?
advice much appreciated. thanks a lot

Is that £1520 + £850?0

Not too bad a price, especially if it includes VAT, all the trv's and a proper flush.
My personal opinion is not that great about Ferolli boilers, but everyone has their own favorites.
If this installer fits them all the time then he obviously trusts them.
If however he is quoting this because it is this months latest and cheapest offer at his merchants, then that is another story.0
