Jailabreak Charity Run!

Options
Hi Guys and Gals, need all your help!!

On the SATURDAY 21st Feb 2010, myself and 3 mates are doing a Jailabreak. This is getting as far away from a home destination in 36 hours, by spending not a penny. And of raising as much money as posible for charity!

Thing is i have no idea how to start planning. Should I contact BA and the other big plane companies there customer services, then home i eventually get to speak to someone who cares/can help.

Does anyone know where to start as I am aiming for out of euro if possible:T!

I will have proof that it is for charity on the day (i think).

Thanks for reading!

CHEERS EVERYONE!!

Would the nearest RAF camp be able to put you on a flight, as it's for a good cause ?

Wow, we've done this before and it's no easy task, didn't make it out of europe :S but we weren't allowed to plan in advance either..
just blagging your way may work, could you maybe contact some big companies for sponsorship in the form of tickets etc??

We can't make any official plans (tickets etc) however just talking to companies about it isn't against the rules (as far as i know).

RAF base, i like that idea! ... any idea how to start that communication with them?

    Cheers Guys!

  • I've never known you to be allowed to plan in advance, in talking to people etc... I think the official line is that you grab your passports and blag lots of favours on the day (MAKE SURE THEY ARE RETURNS!!!!!)
However if you are sneakily planning, let it be known on your sponsoring, so that people don't pull out after with the excuse.
I'd recommend a JustGiving site if you haven't done one already. They donate all the money as well as 95% of the Gift Aid too :)
Also have you thought out boats? Some may be slower than flying, but if you talk to the right people, you could possibly get hover crafts etc? (idk!)

If you are planning about flights... it's probably best asking what the English side can do once you get out somewhere with connecting flights too, rather than being stuck with a language barrier.

Oh and use all the contacts you have on the day... someone always knows someone else useful, don't be shy to pull in all the guilt favours, after all, you aren't the one profiting.

    Hope you do well!

Check out for local bases, we have hundreds around here. If you have any locally, someone will know someone else who's there, or you may strike lucky and find someone's dad/grandad has served and knows someone etc. Get the Charity number and an official letter explaining what you're doing and what they could do to help. And if you have no other ways in, chat to the guys on the gates, they don't bite! They may also have alternatives for you :)

I seriously doubt that they would be able to lay anything on specifically for you... however if you are professional about it all and talk to the right people, they will do everything to help you. This includes possibly putting you on an outgoing flight already scheduled for that day (however I seriously doubt they would be able to guarantee a return immediately, this doesn't mean they can't get you back with the next scheduled lot though)

Hope some of that makes sense!
